WETLANDS The causes of wetland decline is the increase of temperature. Wetlands are important because they protect and improve water quality, provide fish and wildlife habitats, store floodwaters, and maintain surface water flow during dry periods. Here is a link to my blog about invasive species. jillianmantunez.weebly.com/invasive-species Wetlands are an extremely part of the environment. They protect the shores from the waves, reduce the impact of floods, absorb pollutants, and improves the water quality. They also provide habitats for animals and plants; and they create a wide diversity of life. http://www.environment.gov.au/water/wetlands/about Some interesting things I learned from the documentary was how the San Francisco bay was formed. The image below is the sketch notes I took during the documentary. SAVE THE BAY I unfortunately was unable to go on the field trip, but I did participate in the data analysis that was completed in class. The citizen science is important to the program, because that is where citizens can learn more about the issues in the environment and contribute to the program. Here is a link to a presentation I created for the Save the Bay. docs.google.com/presentation/d/1HnuDLAXIlmQORC1I3EHM2R2FNV5XlcpwENWisGW-QEY/edit?usp=sharing |
