The solar eclipse
The solar eclipse is when the moon and the sun align and when the moon covers the sun fully or just some of the sun. The 2017 Solar Eclipse was special because that was a TOTAL eclipse with a visible band across the whole U.S.. A qualitative observation that was made during the solar eclipse was when I was witnessing it and it became dark when it started. A quantitative observation was when I took the surface temperature before, during, and after the solar eclipse.
adopt the data
Above is the Surface Tension data table and the graph. The data was taken before, during, and after the Solar Eclipse. You can see that the temperature of the concrete surface went down (64.7, which is unfortunately not written down on the graph) when it was in totality of the solar eclipse. The surface tension can impact the environment by the organisms that live in the surfaces. For example the dirt; if organisms live in the dirt and their home changes temperature it could potentially change their living situations and how they live.

Reflection
Witnessing the solar eclipse for the first time was truly an interesting experience. Using the boxes and the glasses to see how the sun looks was amazing. It is something you have to see with your own eyes to believe it.
