If there's water pollution what we can do to reduce or get rid of it is by writing to the government, saving our wetlands, being cautious on desalination, and starting at home. Some of the action items is a link to write to the government, links on how to support the issue and organizations, and more information on the subject. Something interesting that I found was a link to support the Blue Alternative, so a person won't have to wait for desalination. It teaches how a person how they conserve water in their own home.
Water is important, because humans use it in their everyday lives and a person can't survive without it. The health of the ocean is at stake, because of water pollution. The pollution is destroying habitats and animals/organisms are becoming extinct due to it. Water is a human right. Everyone should have access to it. There should be an quick and easy solution to the solution, but unfortunately there isn't. There will be pros and cons to it all, but the end goal should be (no matter of money or economic status) water for everyone. I was really surprised to hear about the fundraiser the boy made when he was middle school. I thought that was really amazing how he raised enough money to make a well for the people. I think it's amazing, because he started doing it because of his teacher who taught her class about it and he got inspired and started raising money then started this whole organization. I did gain new insights and knowledge from the film. I was so disheartened to see how the water and money issues effect other people in the world. There was one story where a family's home caught on fire and the mom couldn't put out the fire because she didn't have money for water. So her two kids died in the fire. How is it that fair? Water should be a right for everyone. I believe the main goal for this film was to raise awareness about the situation. There are many areas of the world were the water is disappearing and I believe because of our location we don't really see how it's bad because it's not affecting us (yet). In the past nine years people have been creating wells to create water for communities, new laws for water regulation have been taking place, and a commission to remove dams. If the dams are removed then the rivers and water can go back to normal. People are also boycotting bottled water, because the cost of water and the production of making/delivering the bottled water is a tribute to pollution. The water should belong to the public and not the corporations making a profit off of the water. |
